Liberty of London for Target: time to free up that wallet money, girl.

Finally!!!

Rodarte sold out too quickly, Sonia Rykiel for H&M left me disappointed (I didn't want to wear roses on my nipples and pink and black are just not my forte), Gaultier is a joke, but ALAS!!! here comes Liberty of London for Target, just in time to save us all.

The collection (hitting stores March 14th, just in time to get that horrible Gaultier taste out of your mouth), is perfect for summer. It's like a freaking Cover Girl commercial, easy, breezy, beautiful, but not cheap looking. The little romper number gave me giggles and the bathing suits are so perfect for a postpartum body (the one I'm going to be trying to work out, but god knows I'm not gonna). The dresses are not too complicated and look like anyone could have made them (I mean, this is Target here, let's not get our hopes up), but the whimsical print that Liberty is known for make up for it. Add to that a few accessories and, wait, is that a bike? Yep.

Jean Paul Gaultier

So, in about a week, we'll be seeing Target stock up their stores with the anticipated collection from Jean Paul Gaultier. Everyone will be stoked......or so we thought. Looking at this collection, one word comes to mind: Horrid. Or two words: Horrid and cheap.

For starters, the leggings, one of the dresses, the bathing suit thingie and that top worn under the yellow dress, they all look like that crap that people were wearing when they wanted to look like they were tattooed. WTF? Seriously? We expect this from Ed Hardy, not one seriously famous designer.

Then, where is the heck is the consistency? Some of the collection looks like it came out of the movie Cry Baby, with the leather, gingham and good girl florals.....none of which even Hatchet face would wear and the rest look like Madonnas back up girls wore the clothes in a bad low budget video. Ugh. No thanks. The only things that look good are those last two jackets, but only the price will tell.

I spent over a hundred bucks on a pair of jeans for new years, only to not wear them. I still looked hella fine (you bet I did, belly and all), but maternity clothes still has a long long long way to go.

rodarte steals my heart

Oh, Rodarte. How I wish I could wear your clothes when they come out in a few weeks. But, sigh, I will be massive and have to wait till April to flaunt around in these gorgeous outfits. For now, I will gaze and gaze at the cuteness. *Sigh*

Let the Queen Rein Supreme

Fuck yes. Alexander McQueen is for sure doing a small line for Target, scheduled to come out in March.

In anticipation, here are my faves from his Spring '09 collection. Enjoy!

So, as you all know, Target has that Go line crappola, where they bring in a new designer to design a ready to wear, cheap, line of clothes. Well, up next is Richard Chai. Here, each picture is about $90, or so I'm told by Nylon. Whatever. Who has ever heard of an outfit costing almost 100 bucks from Target before? Not me. While I'm not feeling the fact that the clothes are that expensive, I do wonder how much it would be if it was sold at H&M, for example. Probably alot more. So, instead of complaining, I'm just going to start thinking about what single piece I really like, since that's all I'm going to be able to afford. Let's see..... Vest? Top? Or skirt? The skirt looks pretty cute, but the vest and top are damn cute. I was just talking to my friend Jackie yesterday about the color purple and how much I don't really like it. Well, looks like I'm going to change my mind. I'm totally digging the vest and top.
Jacket. Eh. I can probably find something similar at delias, forever 21 or H&M, without necessarily having to say I got it from Target. Pass.
Cardigan? Top? Or skirt? Well, all three are pretty damn cute, but that cardigan! Gawd, I'm a sucker for a good cardigan.
Jacket? Top? or shorts? Pass pass pass. Nothing worth spending that much on. Next!
Blazer? Top? Or shorts again. Again, pass on all three. While the blazer is something that looks well made and structured, it's white. And I would never wear it during the summer, cuz, well, it's hot. And once winter comes by, I always get so dirty in the winter for some reason. I know that white blazers can look soooo good, but I would rather buy something else. Don't forget, I'm trying to narrow this shit down.....

Skirt? Top? or the vest? Again, the top and the vest. They look comfortable and versatile.
Jeans? Cardigan? or top? The jeans and cardigan! I saw a pair of similar purple jeans at F21 for cheaps, but they fit kinda funky and gave me a muffin top (something I have to work on, but still, most of my pants help me hide that), so these might be worth buying if they are flattering. And the cardigan, something I know I can wear for days and days.
Top? or shorts? Ugh. neither. That top, ugh, something I would have seen anywhere last year. And shorts, they don't look anything special. Maybe once I see them in person and try them on I'll change my mind.

So...so far I can't decide between the tank tops, the vests or the cardigans. We'll see once they come in. If any of you buy anything, lemme know!

Jonathon Saunders

Everyone is raging about how Jonathan Saunders is doing a line for Target this fall. Eh. I mean, yeah, I like the tiered dress he made so popular (I saw a Forever 21 knockoff at Pow on Monday night, see takeovertokyo.com. Girl looked cute, see last picture), but his clothes seem to lack awesome color combos (for the most part) and I can't really pull off his clothes (due to a tiny thing called hips). And I know, his stuff is quirky and crazy, but I just feel like his clothes the last couple of collections were not something I was "gasp" about. So, while I got my Nylon email update and while I read it on a few blogs yesterday, I can't say I was really all that excited. Bring back Mila. Then I'll be excited.
