HOWEVER! I am excited about Tucker for Target. Tucker, by Gaby Basora is expensive as shit, but the prints and the basics she makes almost seem worth it. Almost. Which is why it's super awesome that she will be making stuff for Target. If the prints and the quality of the material are anything CLOSE to what she sells, I need to start hussling now!

I'm back! Sorry for the long delay!

Since I've been gone, lots has happened. Baby Julian was born after a long and arduous labor that ended in an emergency c-section, but both baby and mom are just fine (thank god!). Josh and I got new whips (yeeee!), a new and better couch suited for full-family-cuddles was ordered and I'll be heading off to work soon, which of course means that a new wardrobe, that is more forgiving, is needed.

Also, Holier Than Now nominated me for some award! Not really sure what it is, since I haven't had much time to check it out, but it's super nice to be noticed.

Lastly, Coachella is this weekend. I can't go this year, due to momma duties, which I don't mind at all, but sure wish I could be there somehow! The line-up is ridiculous as usual and who wouldn't love to see Jay-Z? Regardless, I packed in a few shows the last couple of weeks/months. I got to see the XX, Little Dragon and Jemina Pearl, the first two being super super good, and I'll be seeing Camera Obscura next week in SF.

Anywho, I'll be back on blog duties, hopefully doing some catching up!

I'm totally la-la-loving the idea of the ombre color thing that is going on in hair fashion (or has been, for a few months now), but I have yet to see a person of color (or with a bit of color, at least) rock it. White people, you are so lucky. You get to wear EVERYTHING when it comes to beauty! It's a little harder for us brown babies, since we aren't as good of a canvas for certain colors. I've been thinking of trying this shit out, with blue or green, but am a bit apprehensive.

Does anyone have pics of someone other than a white person pulling this off? I would like to see what it looks like. And no, I'm not hating on you, white babies, so don't send me hate emails. I'm just saying.

Finally!!!

Rodarte sold out too quickly, Sonia Rykiel for H&M left me disappointed (I didn't want to wear roses on my nipples and pink and black are just not my forte), Gaultier is a joke, but ALAS!!! here comes Liberty of London for Target, just in time to save us all.

The collection (hitting stores March 14th, just in time to get that horrible Gaultier taste out of your mouth), is perfect for summer. It's like a freaking Cover Girl commercial, easy, breezy, beautiful, but not cheap looking. The little romper number gave me giggles and the bathing suits are so perfect for a postpartum body (the one I'm going to be trying to work out, but god knows I'm not gonna). The dresses are not too complicated and look like anyone could have made them (I mean, this is Target here, let's not get our hopes up), but the whimsical print that Liberty is known for make up for it. Add to that a few accessories and, wait, is that a bike? Yep.

So, in about a week, we'll be seeing Target stock up their stores with the anticipated collection from Jean Paul Gaultier. Everyone will be stoked......or so we thought. Looking at this collection, one word comes to mind: Horrid. Or two words: Horrid and cheap.

For starters, the leggings, one of the dresses, the bathing suit thingie and that top worn under the yellow dress, they all look like that crap that people were wearing when they wanted to look like they were tattooed. WTF? Seriously? We expect this from Ed Hardy, not one seriously famous designer.

Then, where is the heck is the consistency? Some of the collection looks like it came out of the movie Cry Baby, with the leather, gingham and good girl florals.....none of which even Hatchet face would wear and the rest look like Madonnas back up girls wore the clothes in a bad low budget video. Ugh. No thanks. The only things that look good are those last two jackets, but only the price will tell.

I'm sure you've all read about and seen the images of the new V issue, the "size" issue. But we may not all agree on is whether or not the magazine did Crystal Renn any justice or whether it actually succeeded in trying to say that size doesn't matter. Sure, featuring her in this spread is a step forward in the right directions, but as Jezebel points out, why the comparison to a "true size" model? If this issue was truly about how the difference between the two girl's sizes isn't an issue, then making them pose side by side, as if comparing the two, defeats the purpose. So, here is the spread one more time, just in case you really didn't see it, but I only posted Crystals pics, because well....she's the only reason I would care to see this anyway. So, I go to Target yesterday in hopes of, like every other girl out there, scoring myself a piece of the Rodarte pie. Well, wtf, low and behold, they are practically out of everything and they didn't even carry half of what the collection included.

But why?? It's not like Salinas (where I was at at the time) is full of fashionistas (trust me, look up the location). Well, because this Target decided to put everything out on the 18th. Thanks alot, fuckers.

So, I go online, but everything is sold out! yep. Practically everything.

And if this didn't piss me off enough, check out this story. Ugh!

The only kind of trees for me these days

While driving back to Sacramento from my aunts house during the Thanksgiving weekend, I saw spot after spot selling Christmas Trees. Rows and rows of trees stared back at me as we drove past and a sick feeling of knowing that these trees could have been left alone to grow and provide oxygen to our planet sat in my stomach the entire way home. Everything I can't have

Every time I go shopping, it is the most disheartening event of my week. Everything I want to wear makes me look absolutely ridiculous due to the 24 pounds that I have put on (yep, and it's only gonna go up). I can't wear fur, or anything that resembles fur and leopard print only seems to come in items that don't fit me anymore.

I'm still going to try to find tops with cute shoulders (as seen in a few here) and I'm still going to try to do something with my hair. In the meantime, I will gaze at these beauties and wait till Julian is born. I've been meaning to post these for a while, so they're pretty old.

I love the combo of black sheer with the shoulder details.

More shoulder detail. This is really the only look I can go for right now, but it's still pretty hard to find a top that actually goes over my belly.

Big sweaters! This is only something I know I can wear. But finding that right that both hides and accentuates my pregnancy just right is pretty hard to find.

Not that I would ever cut my hair like this, but I love love this girls hair.

And her hair too. I used to have it shaved on the side, but after growing it out for almost two years, I don't know if I'm willing to go shaved again. It just took so effin long to get it this length!
A little crunchy, I know, but it looks so warm and comfy. Two things that are at the top of my wardrobe priority right now.

Yesterday, I woke up to find that it had rained for the first time in months (well, duh). I took Bronson for a walk and everything smelled so clean and crisp. The air was fresh, the sky was a marble of sun and clouds.....

Ah! it was perfect. Pumpkin Spice lattes are back, I get to wear sweaters again, and not just when I'm indoors. Yep. I'm pregnant. I found out about two weeks ago. I had been "sick" for about a week and seriously thought I might be dying due to a chorizo burrito gone rouge. But after everyone and their mother told me that, No, I wasn't dying from food poisoning, but due to baby belly, I decided to prove them wrong and go to the doctor for a blood test.

HA! No burrito, but a baby. Now, I come home everyday after only being able to work a few hours, ready to pass out and puke up what very little I was able to eat. However, not only do I have to worry about how the hell I'm going to survive the morning sickness (which, PS is not just in the morning) and all the other great shit I'm now going to have to deal with, but I'm also going to need a whole new wardrobe. I wish I could say that I'll be wearing nothing but flowing dresses, but with me just being barely pregnant, I'm also going to need a winter wardrobe. Here are some of my ideas about what selective buying I'm going to have to do, and yes, I went to these two lovely ladies for inspiration (what, were you expecting pictures of Angelina or JLo??)
