disadvantage

as always...  it's been a while!

i have been working 10-15 hour days for the past month or two and now i finally have a break.
sure, i may not be able to walk during this break due to my surgery last monday....  but i am enjoying it!

surgery.  so this is what my ankle looked like when i broke it and they PUT the hardware in...

and this is what the hardware looks like OUT of my leg...

so now i'm wearing a walking boot for the next SIX months. meh.
which is already messing up my wardrobe.

these girls give me a good idea (minus the heels obviously):

this is my favorite!

i don't think i could pull these pants off. and i don't know if i want to because this is what my mom wore when i was growing up. i still love 'em!

this one isn't best for weather right now, but my husband bought me those moccasins in black and i can never find anything that looks good with them, i always just feel like Pocohontas. just albino.

this one is already how i dress everyday, minus the mittens, which now i want!

alright, homes.
thats all i have for the day.

(awh, i wish i could wear heels!)

New Threads for a New Year

I am fully aware that I may be the only male entity whose eyes feast upon this decadent blog, but I just can't help myself. Normally, in a smaller post, I would take time to comment on each item, but not in this case. You can know that every single piece is something I would purchase if I were a richer man (or HAD a richer man.. or even a man in general.. sigh)

ok.. also, I've omitted images of pants because they are such a personal preference, I haven't the motivation to find a diverse-enough collection to satisfy my imaginary male readers.

Here are my choices for, not only, new years festivities, but for any upcoming semi-formal event:

(*remember kids, the lines between formal wear and casual are blurring drastically so have fun and remain comfortable, but be sure you are not so relaxed that you leave your house in a button up plaid shirt & dirty denim jeans with dress shoes.. thinking you've stumbled upon something other than bad taste!)

the whole package

If you know then you know.
If you don't then let me be the first to anxiously introduce you to my swedish muse:

LYKKE LI

She's untouchable in all things- fashion. rythm. grooves. voice. words... she owns.

the outfits she is wearing in the following videos are only upstaged by her voice/words, not to mention that her moves are complimented by the textures and sculpted shapes of each piece she's wearing.

enjoy.
thank me later.

Glitterati

Dorian Gray here. I've been asked to make guest appearances/posts here. guess that's enough said, let's get to the fashionistas!

I dream of an even more adorabl knit verson of this shoulder cape... think of the great ties/clasps you can use to adorn them, yadira/jen!! (hint-hint)

green & purple is possibly my favorite color combination and these textures mixed with the rich/deep tones are killing me!

i like this jacket and how it's works with the frill of the dress... a little splash of color.

i would totally wear everything on him..

a bit more of a Scandinavian/heterosexual feel to the previous look. think Helsinki not Castro, SF

i'm dying for those pants. i really just enjoy the casual feel of the entire package.

This reminds me of old photos of my great grandma who immigrated from El Salvador in the early 1900s! so decadent and lush. so false it's true.

two, cool for school.
