Keeping Up

Good evening ladies.

Sometimes, we have time to go through all the bulletins on the 'space' and sometimes we don't. Well, I'm glad I had some time today. Look at all the awesome dresses being sold at Mama Stone Vintage!

This one is the one I want. Hey, it's my birfday in a month....anyone wanna get me an early gift? No? Well, I thought I would at least ask...

This one really caught my eye too. My mom used to make me dresses when I was between the ages of four to ..erm, I'd say about nine. Some of them, not so cute. But all of them totally eighties! (I'm 25) This gorgeous blooming beauty is EXACTLY like a few of those she made. Mom, thanks for always keeping me looking awesome. Or at least making me think I looked awesome. This may not be so cute, but it brings back so many memories.

Neck Warmers, Beanies and Tights

I love etsy. You love etsy. Everyone loves etsy. Alot of the stuff I see on there, I've made before. So I was thinking, should I join etsy?

Here's the gorgeous Jen wearing one of my neck warmers from last year.
And here's another one, along with a beanie I made. I loved this cowl neck warmer so much that I was almost sad when I sold it.
Well, I think I'm going to be making more! Photo by Face Hunter.
Now, this little head piece I've had saved in my picture album for almost a year, and I still don't know who made it. I've tried searching for "boog" with no avail. I wish I could make it, but since I just started crocheting a little over a year ago, I'm not quite there yet. Can anyone help!?
Photo by Wunderblock. Predictions of things to come. Grey layers and big beanies.
This, I don't know where I got it from (sorry), but I wanted to give you another example of adorable colorful tights.

Hella Tight

Good morning, Porcelain readers!

Thursday night, the ladies and I painted the town red in SF. We went to meet up with friends at Cassettes and we weren't sure if it was gonna be cold or not. Luckily, it was a beautiful night, but I did take a pair of tights with me, just in case. Tights are the best transition for Fall. Here are some of my faves.

Bright Tights:

Yes, Fall is about purples, greys, navys, etc, but every once in a while, a good pop of color can do no harm. Photo by John Galliano RTW '08.

Striped Tights:

Sonia Rykiel still has me mesmerized. Her striped tights for the RTW '08 have me wanting to try it out with my home made version.

And did you see the little crowns some of the models sported? Crochet time! Photo found on google.

Dark Colored Tights:

I found this pic on foto decadent. From Korean Marie Claire. Colored tights were big last year. Expect nothing to change with that. I'm totally loving the blue wig too!Ripped Tights:

Alexander Wang had tongues wagging about his ripped tights. A few bloggers have commented on them, saying both positive and negative things. Is he taking the grunge look a bit far? Especially when ripped tights cost you more than your monthly Starbucks addiction? Probably. So, instead of breaking the bank, rip up a pair of Target tights to wear under those shorts.

Lace Tights:

Here, the lovely Cheapskate Chic wears two trends in one. Lace and ballerina tights! My mom used to make me some when I was like 8 (not lying, I swear), but she used to make them footless. Fake Leatha:

Antonio Berardi, once again. I saw some this weekend. Almost bought them, but I'm broke due to Bronson, our new boxer (pics soon!).

Crochet!

As seen on Miss Dunn in the new ID.
Also, as many of you have read on Queen Marie's blog, Kingdom of Style (or on other blogs that don't even give her credit), Studded and Fringed Tights are also pretty awesome this Fall. Check them out!

Out and About, and Totally Amazing

Early post, cuz I will not be able to post manana.

So, check this pic out. It's got lace gloves, a tuxedo jacket and great tights. Everything you're gonna wanna have soon. This picture and the bottom three by Style Sightings.

'Member Hermione? This is her cooler, blonder cousin. Photo here and below my Jak and Jill.

This is going to be my everyday wardrobe. Tights, cashmere sweaters, scarves and hopefully a cute pair of oxfords (which I still am trying to buy).

Okay, Okay, I know, she's not that cute. But really, can you negate the fact that those glasses are fucking awesome? and I love that jacket, so versatile.

Good transition for fall, shorts shorts with a comfy sweater. Go thrifting and I'm sure you can find the cutest sweater in the kids section.

In this photo, the girl to the right looks badass. Yeah, her hair looks like shit, but those pants are so cute. And if you don't think she's all that badass, I'd like to see you wearing those pants. Yeee-up.

I Got It!

Remember how I had posted about wanting this waterfall jacket from Topshop?? No? Well I did. And I got it! Well, okay, no, not really. But I got a vintage one that is pretty damn similar. While I don't have a camera to show you (single tear), I'm gonna see if I can borrow my sister's to give you a looksie! Oooh, I can't wait to wear it tomorrow night!

Comme des Garçons

Mkay, as promised, here are some pics of the new stuff you will be seeing at H&M. And as everyone else is saying, it's a pretty big deal. It's refreshing to see something a little more avant guard. I'm not super hyped, just cuz I'm not that big of a fan, Buuuut, fans out there are super stoked since it will be more affordable to own an original piece. Some pieces are pretty neat-o and I do love all the polka dot on polka dot tops. Once Sonia Rykiel jumps on the bandwagon, I'll join the stoked crowd too. Now, back to work!

Lame-o

Okay, so, I know that I promised an awesome post for ya today. I know, I know I'm sorry.

I was going to post pics from the new stuff for H&M, but so many have already done so, I'm sure you've read about it. Either way, H&M has asked a few bloggers to remove the images (oooh).

I was gonna post pics from w_r, but lately, post have been "okay" and surely you've all had that page bookmarked anywho.

I was gonna post my thoughts about trends for fall, but .....fall's not here yet and today I have to go shopping with my little sister and summer is still on the mind.

And besides, I'm EXHAUSTED! Since Friday, I have saved two baby squirrels that fell from a tree and nursed one back from near death, I have weeded and cleaned the entire corner portion of the yard, we've replaced the fence, fixed the deck, bought a baby boxer, taken my parents to the river and BBQ'd with the inlaws.
sigh.

Hope you all can forgive me. Have a good Monday everyone!

Aren't these tights the bees knees? Ahahah, sorry, couldn't help myself. But there are pretty effin cute.

Samantha Pleet for UO

Have you heard? Samantha Pleet's designs are coming to Urban in October. Here's a sneak peak I stole from Pipeline via Fashionologie. (PS, click on the pic for a bigger version)

This seems a little redundant. Haven't we seen something similar to this at Topshop?
Ooooh, I like that black dress.

These jackets are the one's I'm saving my money for. Especially that second one!

How to Keep Warm for Fall

Good morning!

Last night I fell in love with this beautiful cropped jacket that Leanne was wearing. It looks so unique, comfy and warm (Fall will be here soooon!). I want one! But alas, she probably made it herself. Have you not noticed she always has similar pieces in every episode?

It totally reminded me of Yokoo ...
...who I heard about from Sherbet Tone....
....that reminded me of this neck warmer by Naik Fur....
....which looks alot like this photograph by Steven Miesel....
....which circles back to this piece, also by Naik Fur.

What I'm getting at is that I can't wait for Fall. I'm gonna crochet like crazy and I'm completely inspired by all these incredible pieces. Come Fall, Lace better watch out cuz knits and crochet pieces are going to be a huge competition.

Lace Lace Lace

'Member that post where I mentioned that lace will be big this fall? Well, this picture pretty much explains how Lace will rule Fall '08. I'm not a huge fan, but I'm sure it's going to be pretty impossible to not see it everywhere. Just like gladiator sandals, expect this to be on every young hip thing out there.

And can someone please by me this outfit? I will love you forever!!!!

Everywhere But Here

Hallo ladies and gents.

Well, every other day, I take a look at websites like Face Hunter, Glam Canyon, Hoy Fashion, etc. Every time I go on there, I'm loving what I see. But when I see street fashion from the states (mainly NY and LA), I'm bummed out that we all look so much the same. Dean, Jen's hubby, who's from London, says that it's really simple. Americans like to look like everyone else, in order to feel fashionable, while Londoners like to look like nobody else, to show their creative fashion-forward side. I say, Fuck It All. Come on, America, let's stop being so afraid of looking stupid and try something new and different.

Copenhagen Street Style: this looks pretty typical, but I've yet to see someone else look this good in ugly yellow pants. It's about confidence too! that and a skinny-ass body (sad face).

Face Hunter: Um, capes? fuck yeah. And a braided scarf? fo sho.
