My wishlist from Topshop

Why can't I have a sugar daddy? You know, on the side?

So, the ever popular Agyness has finally gotten rid of that hair cut. Does this mean her modeling career will plateau? And I'm not sure how I feel on the matchy matchy outfits. Sometimes Josh and I do it, unknowingly until it's too late and we're walking out the door, but it makes me feel all cute inside. Cute? Not cute?

come fall....

Good morning, loves. When I saw Antonio Berardi's ready to wear fall 2008 two weeks ago, I knew that I would love shopping come winter. Someone designs something that catches like wildfire, and soon enough, it trickles down to places where we (meaning brokes) can actually afford to buy it. Well, a girl can hope, right?

I think that, to best get this look, buy these pants first, since the dress will be easier to find later. Wearing pants instead of whatever those are (are they crotch high boots? I think they're just legging with shoes...right?) will be much easier to get off.
Not so much a fan of this one, but I've seen people like my mom wearing something similar to this. Not the most flattering. Yellow!
I love this fabric. If only it was a little tighter around the back. It's not a good look when this thing is bigger than you are.
Many of my jacket that I love(d) remind me of this. I've always had a love affair with peacoats and other military inspired kinda jackets. They're absolutely timeless. When I was about 11 or 12, I had a huge dark blue navy peacoat that had belonged to one of my aunts, the person who most inspired my style. I would wear it everywhere, even though it was three sizes too big and I was still under 90 pounds.
soft and sweet, but still intimidating. and that's always good. funnel neck. get a head start, as this will be on every girl around town. Visit Porcelain to see some of the scarfs I made last year that resemble this.My absolute favorite so far. There are others I haven't posted yet, but this is the best. This has everything I would ever want.

page six, the 90's

Check out Page Six magazine doing a little tidbit on "then and now" regarding the 90's. It's like looking at the back pages of your yearbook and still being able to smell the CK One on your crisp button-down white shirt.

For Jen

Hey love, I thought these might help with the decorating this Friday (Jen and I are going to start decorating her new place!).

Old school

Good afternoon! Well, because of a new development, I have had some serious thoughts about what I think will be the next trend and what not. All I could really do is go back and try to remember some of the ridiculous things I wore. It seems that the trends today are all inspired by the 80's and 90's. Duh. I'm sure everyone already knew that. I mean, fashion is so cyclical it shouldn't be that hard to come up with the next trend. But honestly, some of the crap I wore was fugly. And of alllll the trends and fashions that were a part of the 80's and 90's, which ones are really worthy of coming back? I'll have to look at some pictures to help me out with this one.

But anywho, one thing that has always remained awesome, regardless of the time period, is vintage. Even when I was a kid, I loved to go with my mom to the local goodwill and salvation army. Lately, some companies/brands have tried to "re-create" this vintage feeling. So, what's better? vintage or new? I think vintage wins every time. Just make sure you wash those polyester pants. Nobody wants crabs. Ewww.

lucky ladies of wardrobe_remix

Lucky lasses. For one reason or another, I think these girls hit a jackpot.

Photo by sunshineupton : It's that dress. Totally got it at a flea market. Jackpot.

Photo by acatofimpossiblecolour : I don't know where the store "Valley Girl" is located, but she got really lucky a place like that carried such a cute dress. Jackpot.
Photo by strike.match : Everything is thrifted. Well, duh, Jackpot. That dress is something I bet someone would charge a pretty penny for.
And last but not least, photo by thelittlestn : having the vision to buy that necklace. It's not something anyone would normally buy, but to buy it and be able to actually still pull it off years after you've bought it: Jackpot.

Beat Kids! Beat Kids! Kids on the street, Kids on the beat! Beat Kids! BEAT KIDS!

So, check out the flyer. I'm excited, I think.

I'm not saying this is going to be like a dance battle galactica, but why do I feel like this might turn out to be a popularity contest? Wasn't Junior High horrible enough to never revisit?

Ahhhh! But yeah, I'm still excited to be a part of this and hopefully can help josh out on this one (I'm not really a DJ nor have the greatest music taste, so say a few haters). I'm saying Fuck It and want to play music that I would want to listen to while drunk and having a good time with my friends. And I think Josh wants the same thing. So, if you wanna come out, drink sparks, have a great time, and listen to some (cross your fingers) jams, please come out and be a part of something awesome to do on a Thursday night.

Real Quick

Okay, so, I love Fart Party, and I just saw something by Julia Wertz that I thought was hilarious, so I just wanted to share. It's about how cool and awesome high school was, and although my personal high school experience was WAY different, I still thought this was pretty cute and funny. Enjoy

High School

Fart Party

examples and a few other things

Crap crap crap, I just realized I missed Project Runway last night. What the fuuuuuck?!

Okay, whatever, I'll get over it, just not one tell me anything. Or, actually, someone just tell me everything and then I don't have to worry about it.

Anyway, this photo's by ineverything.org and isn't that dress just fucking adorable? It buttons inside, giving it that shape.

And here's a cardigan that only breaks my heart. It reminds me that I can't afford the damn Beckerman cardigan that Desmitten offered to buy for me when she went to their sample sale the other day. Too bad I couldn't afford $110. Photo by strike.match

How to do monochromatic style this summer. Here ya go. You're welcome.

Okay, Hammer pants. I dunno. I think they look good on SOME people, and I hope they don't grow in number the way gladiator sandals took over everyone's feet this summer. They're just not that flattering. Here, lambandlynx pulls them off. But barely (sorry).

This poor smuck, who I'm not even going to link, is the perfect example of why some people should defintely not wear them. Cankle much?

Oooh, when I saw this on Face Hunter, I was like "what! already??!"
Check out her tights. Fucking stripes. What did I tell you?

Now, for capes. Capes are fucking hot. Not just like "that's hot!", but hot as in warm and shit. So, no duh you would never want to wear one right now. But check out these cape-like thingies you can wear now.
This one's from Oak and is a bit pricey. It's $110, the same price as that cardigan I want, and to be honest, I would rather get the cardigan. But, hey, you spend your money your way.
As seen on Face Hunter.
And as seen as the always gorgeous Natasha Khan. See? Capes and capes and capes. Go out, get shitloads of gauzy fabric, and you can wear one right now too.

Movin' on up!

it seems that these days any free time i have on the computer i am looking up nothing but house stuff. i just can't seem to stop! most likely it has something to do with moving into our new house next week (ah!). and the bedrooms need to be painted, so now i get to pick colours... my favorite part!

there are a few items that i need to start thrifting for.

we need to get a futon-like sofa for the guest room/hobby room.
we really like this on from Urban...

a dining room table, i gave my grey formica to my mom for buying us gardening equipment.
Dean found this one on craigslist...

for sure needs some cute yard furniture.
... and night stands.

this picture gave me a great idea. i have a screen/room divider thats a bit shorter than this one but really long. i may steal this idea. and those lamps!

i'll either do that or make one of these that are at Urban

now for paint.

keep in mind this is the couch we have

ok.

i love this green, always have. but it's very similar to the colour of our couch?

love this teal!

or maybe a bit greener version?

or pale?

even though this room is pepto-bismol pink and Dean would kill me, i think it is fab!
now, i would never have a open, bare room painted this colour. but having in on walls that have a ton of shit all over them is a great idea.
i'm just sayin'.

this is super dark, and being a renter i don't think i'll be able to do this but just look!.. tell me that isn't delightful??
imagine drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette and reading the paper in a cosy robe. luxury!

i like the light sky colour on the ceiling.

now this, this is my favorite! adore, adore, adore it! i would love to make my whole house look like this. gasp!

now for some decorating tidbits i found along the way

i have always wanted to have a whole wall or even just a little nook of books like this.
... even if i can barely read and only own about fifteen books.

Oo... or this one that's painted a fun color!

i love mirrored furniture!
no for reals... i seriously almost bought a full, and i mean full, mirrored bedroom set.
yeah. my hubs stopped me.

i thought this was a super cute idea.
it's a vintage tv try turned into a side table. there was on on the other side of the couch as well.
cheap and easy! just how i like it. ahem

and i still love this lamp.
Yadira get Josh to get on that shit!

and i'm still going to make one of these, though i'm thinking bigger!

moving on up!

that is right... i am upgrading! on the 29th next week we start moving into our new home. this is the first house i have lived in that was actually mine and not my parents. the house is perfect! and i am so excited to finally "build a home" with my husband.

for you readers who aren't personally friends with us... my hubs and i are coming up on our one year anniversary september 24th (also Yadira's birthday). we knew each other for maybe 2 months before we got married, we weren't even dating! so when we got married we were too broke to move into a bigger place you know, with me being unemployed and crippled (i just broke my foot and had surgery). a year later we are still living in my tiny one bedroom "bachelorette pad." it's pretty hot.

so this is pretty much our first home together. cute, huh?

i will take before and after pictures of the place. pinky swear!

ohhhhh..... so excited! just you wait!

Yadira, maybe i should just be the home fashion person and you should be the fashion fashion person.  well that's pretty much what it is already.  sorry duder.  i just have house on the mind.
